Well if you ask 10 people you will probably get 10 different answers . . .lol.
So we will share with you our practical definition in hopes that you will gain a clear understanding of just what exactly “Keto” is and is not . . .
First you must understand that Keto is NOT . . . . KetoAcidosis!
KetoAcidosis is a horrible life threatening condition where your ketones are out of control.
First off just what are ketones? Simply put they are water soluble fat molecules of high energy value. In simple terms ketones(73) are like fireworks on the fourth of July exploding with tons of energy, boosting you with more stamina, vitality, health and energy!
So then the question is how do Ketones get out of control? They get out of control when insulin is not present. So basically that is a person who has Type 1 diabetes.
If you are not a Type 1 diabetic then it would take an act of congress to get your millimoles of ketones into the double digit range, which is 10 millimoles or higher (normal range of millimoles for ketosis is between 1 and 5 millimoles), and into Ketoacidosis. An example for you to get into the danger range of 10+ millimoles of ketones might be,if you water fasted for 14 days, then dry fasted for 3 days and then ran an ultra-marathon!
